Item has vanished!

Hi :-)

I've been watching an item (a book) for a few days now and tonight the bidding ends. But now when I go to the 'buy' section and perform a search with part of the title (as I did originally when I first found it) it doesn't appear. I've tried searching for it under 'books' and 'all categories' but it seems to have vanished off the Earth!! What's more, it is still visible in my 'items being watched' list and will allow me to place a bid.

I can't fathom this one!! Any ideas???

The only thing I can think of is that it is a store item and doesn't show up in the main listings.

If it still lets you bid following the link from the watched list then you might get yourself a bargain if it can't be seen on a regular search.

What is a store item Soo? Do you mean as in one of the Ebay shops? If so, ithis is not the case.

I've just tried some more options and it does appear when doing a search under 'non-fiction books'. But not when searching the main 'Books, Comics, Magazines' heading. I only ever search under the main heading so am surprised it no longer appears!!

You're right, no-one else has placed a bid so I think I'll be getting a bargain!

Some store items don't show in the main listings.

However, if you are searching by title in a particular category then it might just be in the wrong category. I was assuming you were just doing a general 'search' without specifying a sub category.

I hope you get your bargain!

Could be ebay has cancelled the listing. IIRC things then don't show up even in the completed search.

I don't believe this!! The same thing has now happened to yet another item I am watching!

The item is No. 8310087089

I originally found it by doing a general search for "hairdressing" under the general "Books, comics, magazines" category. But now, if I try this, it doesn't appear on the listings. It will now only appear if I click on 'non-fiction books' on the left-hand side of the screen.

Whenever I've done searches before, all items, regardless of which sub-catgeory they belong to, have always appeared on a general category search. Am I missing something?

Sorry but can't replicate your problem. It shows up fine as search under "Books, comics & magazines"

You're right, I must be one of those 'selected customers'!

I've just tried doing the search on our Sony laptop and it showed up fine under the general subject heading. However, it' still a problem when I perform the same search on the iMAC - perhaps Ebay doesn't like them!

Hi, I know the item has finished, but I can still see it also. I just put the item number into the ebay search and it popped up.

Quick tip - Make sure when you search you dont restrict your searches by country or accidently leave words in the search box from a previous search.
