Efficient running of combi boiler-advice needed

Hi
We use our combi boiler for central heating twice a day(7-8.30 am and again 6pm till 8.30pm)
Combi also provides Hot Water thru our Indirect Vented Cyclinder for an hour around from 6am and again around 5pm.
These have been set up by engineer who installed it.
Would it be more savings by running combi for central heating and hot water at same time or would that mean extra burden/short life/extra usage of gas by combi?
Thanks

if you've got a hot water tank then its not a combi. Combi's dont have hot water tank, they heat the hot water as you use it
It probably wont make a great of difference when you heat your hot water. but the obvious answer is to try it out.

It wont damage the boiler, in a lot of cases you might find that there's a motorised valve which diverts the hot water either to the tank or the heating. In which case you might find that the either the hot water or the heating isn't as fast as it was because the hot water is being either diverted or shared between the two so it may take longer to heat the tank or warm up the house.

Whether yo save gas or not is difficult to assess - if it doesn't heat the hot water or house as fast as it did before then you'll need to have it on for longer so my advice is to try it and see what effect it has.

It is not unknown for a combi boiler to be used to feed a hot water tank, but as indicated above it is unusual. One justification used for this practice is that shower(s) fed from a tank give a better output.
Could it be that the OP is using the term 'Combi' instead of 'Condensing' boiler?
