Audi broke my car

I think you have 2 choices, Put up or Lawyer up ?
Sounds like they just didn't want to deal with you to be honest.
"This to me seemed very unproffesional as surely should receive car back in same condition as it went to the garage as told them the fault and they are the audi experts."
So you send them a broken car and you expect it to be fixed for free because an existing fault got worse in their hands on a 10 year old car ?0 -
have you put in a formal, written complaint to the garage, I'd copy it to Audi UK as well.0

If they are refusing to deal with the OP any more, I wonder how loud the shouting match was?1

Is the damage to the front bumper that they popped out the blanking plate for the towing eye and didn't put it back on (and it isn't in the car somewhere), or is the bumper actually broken?
You took a broken car to them, they gave you a quote to fix, you declined and the car was returned to you. That seems pretty fair, did they charge you for the recovery?
(I suspect there's more to the story as garages rarely refused to deal with a customer again).

This image is from an eBay listing for new covers for B8 A4s like the OP's...

I'm giving myself heart bypass surgery tomorrow. I know surgeons have years of training and experience but, as fred says, the only way to get the job done properly is to do it myself.
Wish me luck.6 -
Heart surgery is actually a good example. The garage industry has no regulation whatsoever. No qualifications needed to work on a car. Heart surgery is so regulated the whole world almost knows the result of every operation. The surgeons are under intolerable pressure. Everything they do is watched. A few clicks and you will be able to find your surgeons results. Published to the world.0

Most garages will be happy to show you their accreditations. Why are you so offended by the idea of having professionals do a professional job?Anyone could, given enough time and money, perform an engine swap on their driveway, but it's a pretty safe bet that a garage will do a better job much faster (and probably cheaper).

Lots of DIY heart surgery videos on Youtube, most useful too.
