I live in Scotland and I am unsure if I am in the correct band. I live in a culdesac where all my neighbours with two bedrooms are on a lower band to myself. I have a slightly bigger property with 2 bedrooms and what I would call a box room. I have queried council tax amount as per Martins suggestions - neighbours council tax and the price the house was valued at, both have suggested I should be in a lower band. However, when querying this I was advised that it was investigated and I was in the correct band. Is there anything I can do further?

What do I do if I think my council tax band is wrong?

This is done through the Valuation Office Agency (VOA). It might be able to change your band before you need to challenge, so get in touch with it first and explain why you think your band is wrong – make sure to include evidence. If you're unhappy with its decision, you can then formally challenge via its website.3 Nov 2020

Selling price is not Council Tax banding , essentially all homes rated in 1991 as the basis .

Is your house ex council?

Have noticed quite a few times when assessor drove down street and made decisions they usually put the houses that had been bought at that time in the next band up? 

And some houses with a box room were classed as 3 beds.
