Hermes Parcel hasn't arrived - can I reclaim my delivery fee / who do I contact?

Options
Morning All,

We recently purchased a bridesmaid dress in a sample sale of JJs House. We plan on getting all the dresses from there, but given this was in the sample sale, we decided to order to see if we liked it.

It was dispatched on the 10th November, and on the 12th of November Hermes were due to deliver it. According to the tracker it simply says 'there is a delay with the parcel'. It never actually suggests a delivery was attempted, and there is no further date.

I have tried to contact Hermes but I can't get to a human being, just the automated bot which says it was will attempted again. JJs House (the retailer) are also not helpful.

My question is, how do I resolve this? Can I reclaim my delivery cost? Who do I contact (hermes/JJs)?

I paid on credit card, so I know I have protection there, but the lack of being able to do anything about this is very frustrating.

Tom

Contact the retailer.  They are the ones who paid Hermes, and they are responsible until the dress is delivered to you.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

You contact JJ House as they have the contract with Hermes
  • Assuming that Hermes were contracted by JJ's House to effect the delivery then you have no contract at all with Hermes, so Hermes have no obligation to you whatsoever. Your rights are with the seller ... give it until the 27th November (i.e. 15 days from expected delivery) and then raise a chargeback/section 75 claim to recover all your monies. In the meantime keep pressing the seller.
