Plumbing work

I had a new toilet fitted about 6 months ago , a fault has developed in the cistern and the plumber who fitted it has managed to get a replacement part free of charge as it was less than 12 months hold , however he says he has to charge me £40 to change it for his time. Is it fair for him to charge me for this even though he only fitted the toilet 6 months ago ?

So to be explicit, you paid the plumber to supply and fit the toilet or you paid him to fit it and bought it from his recommended supplier yourself?kiva74 said:The plumber got the cistern from supplier he uses the . He told the supplier about the faulty part and they gave him a new part free.
If you paid him to supply and fit then he has to deal with the faults including his own time/costs. If he can get anything back from his supplier or not is between him and them and nothing to do with you.0
