British Gas Credit and Switching
Hi, I am currently with British Gas (dual fuel) and have some credit built up on my account (around £140) and am due to switch this month or next. So I have a couple of questions based on the two scenarios of whether I stay or switch to a more suitable deal:
I think I have seen somewhere that British Gas can only refund £75. I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction or provide some insight.
Thank you.
- If I stay, will I get the option of either receiving a full refund or having my monthly direct debits adjusted (lowered) so that I don't lose the accumulated credit on my account?
- If I decide to switch to another provider, will I be entitled to a full refund of the credit that was built up on my account with British Gas?

Thank you.

1 - Refund will carry forward
2 You will get a credit after the switch is complete
PS When looking for new suppliers - use seperate suppliers as they are usually cheaper.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
