That's why the Halifax is putting a spotlight on the small acts of neighbourly goodwill, and now is your chance to thank someone who has made all the difference to you or your community.

Halifax wants to hear who has gone above and beyond in your local community. Tell us about why your neighbour deserves to be named 'Britain's Best Neighbour' and you could win £1,000 worth of vouchers for them and £250 worth of vouchers for yourself.

Halifax – Britain’s Best Neighbours’ on Heart, Smooth, Classic & Radio X
November – December 2020
RULES
1.    The following rules (“Specific Rules”) together with the general competition terms and conditions (which can be found at  https://www.heart.co.uk/terms-conditions/,  https://www.smoothradio.com/terms-conditions/,  https://www.radiox.co.uk/terms-conditions/,  https://www.classicfm.com/terms-conditions/ ) (the “ Competition Terms and Conditions”) of Global (as defined in the Competition Terms and Conditions apply to ‘Halifax – Britain’s Best Neighbours’ radio competition (the “Competition") which will run from  23/11/2020 to 06/12/2020 on  Heart, Smooth, Classic FM & Radio X (the “Radio Station”).
2.    Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have read and accepted the Specific Rules and the Competition Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them.  

Details of the Competition:
3.    To enter the Competition an Entrant must go online to the competition page at heart.co.uk / smoothradio.com / classicfm.com / radiox.co.uk and register their details.  Online entry will open at 00:01 on Monday 23rd November 2020 and close at 23:59 on Sunday 6th December 2020. 
4.    Entrants will be required to nominate an individual from their community by providing their own name and the story relating to their nominee. Of all entries, 50 Entrants will be selected from all eligible entries, based on the selected criteria detailed in point 7. 
5.    We will select upto 5 entries per day starting from Tuesday 24th November until 50 winners have been selected.
6.    Selected Entrants will be contacted on the details given at point of entry to confirm their details and the next steps to receiving their prize.
7.    Entries will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Nominations which show the best sense of community
- Nominations which are deemed entertaining and upbeat 

Eligibility:
8.    Entrants must be 18 years old or above. 
9.    Entry is restricted to one entry per person per Radio Station; duplicate entries will be excluded from the Competition.
10.    By entering the competition, you confirm that your entry form and any accompanying materials and submissions:
1.    do not contain any material which is defamatory of any person or which is obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory;
2.    do not promote sexually explicit material, violence or any illegal activity;
3.    do not promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age;
4.    do not infringe any rights of any other person;
5.    are not likely to deceive any person;
6.    are not made in breach of any legal duty owed to a third party, such as a contractual duty or a duty of confidence;
7.    are not threatening, abusive or invade another’s privacy, or cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety;
8.    are not likely to harass, upset, embarrass, alarm or annoy any other person;
9.    are not used to impersonate any person, or to misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person;
10.    do not give the impression that they emanate Heart FM, Smooth Radio, Classic FM or Radio X if this is not the case; or
11.    do not advocate, promote or assist any unlawful act such as (by way of example only) copyright or trademark infringement or computer misuse.

Ownership:
11.    All competition entries and any accompanying material submitted to Heart FM, Smooth Radio, Classic FM, or Radio X will become the property of the relevant above radio stations on receipt.
12.    You agree that Heart FM, Smooth Radio, Classic FM or Radio X may use your entry and accompanying materials on-air and on and any other platforms associated with the relevant radio station in connection with any publicity of the competition.
13.    You agree to grant Heart FM, Smooth Radio, Classic FM or Radio X a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights, in the competition entry and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the competition entry and any accompanying materials for such purposes.
14.    Where your entry and accompanying materials contain your personal data use this information can be withdrawn at any time by emailing privacy@global.com

Prize:
15.    There will be 50 selected winners in total across the competition, who will each receive a prize for themselves and an additional prize will be awarded to their nominated person.
1.    £250 Love to Shop vouchers for each entrant who nominates a neighbour, 
2.    £1,000 Love to Shop vouchers for each nominated neighbour. 
Additional Prize Terms & Conditions:
16.    At the point of entry, entrants must tick a box to confirm they have consent from the neighbour nominated in the entry that they are happy to be contacted by Global if selected as a winning entry, and  for their story and relevant personal details to be featured in audio and outdoor activity if selected.
17.    Once the winning Entrant has been contacted, Global will provide contact information for the Entrant to pass onto said nominee to contact Global and provide the required details to claim their prize. 
18.    Nominated Neighbours must then get in touch with Global using the email address provided by the winner who nominated them, giving their personal details to receive the prize. 
19.    Entrants and their neighbours will have 2 months from being notified of their win, in which to claim the prize. If they fail to respond within this time period they will forfeit their prize and a new entrant will be selected using the same process.
20.    Global will share a consent form with the winning entrant to be signed and returned to Global. 
21.    In order to be featured in additional activity relating to the ‘Halifax – Britain’s Best Neighbours promotion’, the neighbours will need to return their consent forms within 7 days of receiving. The return of the consent form will not affect the entrant or their neighbour receiving their prize.
22.    By signing and returning the consent form neighbours give consent to Global to use their stories in audio, social media activity and outdoor promotions associated with the ‘Halifax – Britain’s Best Neighbours’ promotion, inclusive of promotions associated with Global Radio, Halifax, NCA and Reach. 
23.    The prize must be accepted as offered and no alternatives including cash will be offered
24.    Global reserves the right to substitute the prize with another prize at its absolute discretion.
