BOILER Service records shows 3 dates. I am assuming it shows servicing in last 3 years..? If so its last serviced couple of months ago..0

I can see Oil level in 3 ways from Tank
Wet oil mark on Tank 6 inches , On Gauge Tube 3 inches, Using Cane 8 inches .
Which one is more accurate. Also even if I got 3-8 inch oil , I think based on position of pipe to Boiler I should get oil to Tank as inlet to Boiler in the bottom of tank as seen below..? or internally it might be positioned higher to avoid sludge...???0 -
It appears the boiler was serviced 4 months ago which is good. No service record paperwork though? Is the company/engineer OFTEC registered?I can't see the oil level in the sight guage but that's prob just the photo. It certainly appears as if there is some oil in the tank, suggesting a different issue.I didn't realise it until today afternoon boiler stopped working.May be a silly question, but does the boiler have a reset button and have you pressed it.........?Failing that, I would call the service enginer and have a chat, explaining fully the problem and you investigations so that he can attend with any pumps, empty drums, drum of oil that he thinks necessary.

Yes oftec certified.
Where is reset button on this Worcester Greenstar Danesmoor External 25/32 Regular Boiler Oil ErP
Boiler. My leg might have touched a Nail with a spring on the Boiler, Surely that's not the reset button, It looks like a nail just came out from Hole. Not sure that's the time it switched off either. ..See photo..

Hope it is working OK sujsuj, this weather change is a bit of a shock. I meant to say apart from all the woodburner/open fire building stuff, make sure you have candles and torches, we do get power cuts.£216 saved 24 October 20140

ohh dear power cut! thats all I need now!!
Boiler reset didn't work. So getting engineer to have a look. Guys who services recently will come not sure tonight or tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
Reset button looks to be tricky one.it doesn't work like a switch. its like your ballpoint without spring inside..(make sense..)0 -
Thought you'd already had an engineer out, shouldn't switch on after running out without it being looked at, hope he comes soon. Not many oil engineers around here, lucky. Just best to be prepared for power cuts, now I've told you we'll probably never have one. Good to have torches for the dark nights anyway, keep one in your car too. I'm a Londoner and had never lived in the countryside before. I quickly learnt that stockpiling a few essentials was wise as the roads were impassable sometimes, plus the deliveries couldn't get into the shops.£216 saved 24 October 20140
