Microwave part identification

Last two days our microwave (AEG MC1751E) is making intermittent humming/vibrating sound while using.
On removing waveguide cover we found a small metal piece which had come loose/broken.
Could somebody help us identifying the part broken?
Many Thanks

    Bin it.
It looks old and rusty and the broken piece burnt and melted. Either buy a new one or it's  possible to pick up a decent second hand microwave for around £10.
  • How old is that microwave?

Given you can pick up a new microwave for 40 quid and a combi for 90 quid they are not worth repairing plus the repair of microwaves is out of the scope of most diyers  due to the dangerous components inside

When I was in that business we never repaired microwaves, just throw it away and get a new one.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
  • It is just that above built in microwave we have fits into 50cm cabinet space, and we are finding it difficult to see one of that size.AEG same model is almost £400!
  • Built in microwaves are an absolute rip off. Just buy a freestanding one that fits the cabinet space. Check the manual online for minimum clearance for ventilation.
