Got some in Aldi, only white though.  Lidl had Wrights on the shelf today in the normal card trays so maybe a packaging problem.  Panic over :)
  • Have you guys tried Garden Centres? Sometimes they have a specialist food section and sell flour. I bought 9Kg plain some time back and added vital wheat gluten (from Amazon) to make it useable for bread.

Lidl had their own and Wrights this morning.  The date marking on the packs was identical so must have been a packaging problem earlier.  Aldi only had white.  I suspect someone is getting tipped off when the wholemeal comes in and clears it out.

Our Co-op seems to have plenty of strong white bread flour and it is just as good as Allinsons IMHO but a lot cheaper.

A bit late to this thread, but just to note you can buy bread flour in sacks on ebay - it's about £16-17 for a 16kg bag, including delivery (usually comes in a box).  The basic white stuff ('Country Range') is fine for breakmakers.
