All under 15,000 miles, 5-door, manual, petrol, 2017:
Volvo V40 2L Momentum T2: £11,075
Mazda 3 2.0 SKYACTIV-G SE-L Nav (s/s): £11,450
Honda HRV 1.5 i-VTEC SE (s/s): £13,490
The Honda is more expensive than the other two by £2-2.5K. Is it worth it?
The XC40 Volvo is too expensive for me.Je suis sabot...0 -
The Honda is more expensive because it is a SUV style.0

Honda would probably win the reliability stakes hands-down but having sat in a V40..the interior finish and seat comfort is a different level but whether that means a trade-off for reliability who knows....0 -
Mine was the last of the S40 - but since then things haven't really improved - and Volvo is no longer the Volvo it once was. It's now owned by the Chinese. The company ethics aren't what they were. I would still avoid them like the plague (is that a good phrase to use now?). I'd still definitely go with a Honda out of the three on offer.Grumpy_chap said:
Are you referring to the Volvo S40 saloon / V40 estate - discontinued about 7 / 8 years ago?cymruchris said:Reliability and Volvo don't mix well on the s40/v40 range.
The OP is talking about a car 3-4 years old, so would be referring to the latter Volvo V40 hatchback (only, no saloon / estate options) dropped form the model range only late last year (2019). Replaced by the XC40.0
