Hi all
Does anyone have a portable speaker recommendation? I'm looking for the clearest sound quality for radio, audiobooks and 'full-sounding' playback of songs for when I'm in the shed, garage and around the house. Thought perhaps a JBL or Sonos Play?
Hoping to grab a Black Friday bargain.
Thanks!

We got a JBL flip 4 a while ago and I was absolutely blown away by the sound quality and bass from such a small device. We now have three of them as I bought the kids one each for University and they use them all the time. When they are home we can link them up by pushing the special button on the speakers. I always use it when outside doing a BBQ and also when im cooking in the kitchen.
I had a look at the Sonos play but I had to download a special app and then link up that way which didnt seem as easy - it may be different now but the simplicity of the Flip 4 being bluetooth (+AUX) means I just link it to any phone or my lap top easily.
Just my opinion of my Jbl Flip but hope this helps.
PS - I just noticed there is now a JBL Flip 5 which I guess may be better in some way1 -

Look for aux input as well as Bluetooth.
Stereo/multi speaker useful.
We got one of these for bathroom garden out and about.

RumRat is probably right for best sound quality. Many would go for the JBL Flip 4 (has aux input as well as Bluetooth) as best bang for the buck. It is quite impressive for it's size and can be bought for getting on for a third of the cost from several locations at £70 or so.Take your pick.1

i can't speak highly enough of the Anker on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-SoundCore-Dual-Driver-Distortion-Microphone-Black/dp/B016MO90GW/ref=sxts_sxwds-bia-wc-p13n1_0?cv_ct_cx=anker+soundcore&dchild=1&keywords=anker+soundcore&pd_rd_i=B016MO90GW&pd_rd_r=44a5cab2-4cb6-4d27-aee5-e8dfe539fc35&pd_rd_w=jL6Jc&pd_rd_wg=mvf6C&pf_rd_p=bc54d678-36cb-4126-bb48-d9575267d544&pf_rd_r=ZJTCNWPWYR1E5J9Y07ZF&psc=1&qid=1606131852&sr=1-1-79e1db8b-ac0e-4e53-86a0-e4b4f9bb89cd
it is at the ridiculous price for black friday at £21.99. the battery is insane - it lasts for ages and the sound and portability are brilliant.1 -
All the Ultimate Ears speakers are excellent and get great reviews. I bought a Megablast from Amazon Warehouse (available today for £129) and it has really good sound. Ideally, you need a charging base to go with it, also in the Warehouse.

Ikea have the SYMFONISK speaker, which is supposed to be developed by Sonos and only £89. Also the latest Amazon Echos and Google Chromcast speakers are supposed to be good.1

I can confirm this speaker is fantastic value and produces great sound - I managed to leave mine on the roof of my car and then drive off some time ago, so I needed another and have just ordered a replacement using the link above so thank you for that!tonygold said:i can't speak highly enough of the Anker on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-SoundCore-Dual-Driver-Distortion-Microphone-Black/dp/B016MO90GW/ref=sxts_sxwds-bia-wc-p13n1_0?cv_ct_cx=anker+soundcore&dchild=1&keywords=anker+soundcore&pd_rd_i=B016MO90GW&pd_rd_r=44a5cab2-4cb6-4d27-aee5-e8dfe539fc35&pd_rd_w=jL6Jc&pd_rd_wg=mvf6C&pf_rd_p=bc54d678-36cb-4126-bb48-d9575267d544&pf_rd_r=ZJTCNWPWYR1E5J9Y07ZF&psc=1&qid=1606131852&sr=1-1-79e1db8b-ac0e-4e53-86a0-e4b4f9bb89cd
