Afternoon all,
I've purchased thumbturn Eurolock thumbturn.
Was about to install, when I noticed that I can freely turn the cam by hand. I can mimic locking & unlocking, but it has not effect on the cam.
Sure that is not right?!

The cam can be turned by hand with no key in the lock, but the thumbturn should locked so that it moves with the cam, and vice versa. If the thumbturn doesn't operate the cam, it will not be possible to use the thumbturn to open the door. 

Is the lock British Standard Eurolock cylinder to TS007 and does it have a three star rating? I would not fit a one star lock to an external door unless you are sure you have the 2 star furniture to turn it into a three star lock. Your insurance probably won't be valid with an inadequate lock.

Normal on a thumbturn, same as a keyed lock with a key in it.

Can you press the handle and turn to operate the lock?   Im sure I have read that some of these have this feature to make it difficult to operate by someone using a stick or other tool through the letterbox or cat flap.
