Next time, instead of 'Please take me', write 'For Sale £100'.jonesMUFCforever said:Make sure that the 3 seater fits through the door and if gets through that - you have enough room to manoeuvre it into the room that it will end up in.
Onour last move we had 2 choices - remove a window and put it the wrong room or leave it outside with a notice 'Please take me' - nobody did! Had to pay in the end for somebody to take it away.
It will be gone within hours.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".1 -
Avoid the
Sale must end Sunday.......and starts again Monday
No deposit and nothing to pay for 12 months
Then 48 low payments
Which normally means the sofa will be knackered well before last payment as it was made in China

We even offered it to a charity shop for free but because it was a 3 seater, apparently they are not in fashion these days and they turned it down!Belenus said:

It was comfy too!1 -
Although they offer 3838473 months free credit - the credit is priced into their sofas. The sofas are overpriced for what they are - they are designed to look a bit fancy, but made in the cheapest way possible. They are also not renowned for their comfort and longevity. It's just a shiny showroom experience to make you 'feel' like you're getting a good deal. If you search for DFS threads here - there are a multitude of users that have poor experiences at DFS.gazman100 said:
Can you elaborate on why not please? I've never used them and obviously the 'ending soon!' sales are nonsense, but keen to understand if there are specific reasons.cymruchris said:You seem very sensible - but I'll say it anyway, just in case you get tempted by their 2983 month interest free credit deals - don't buy a sofa from DFS.1 -
Ektorps are comfy, the covers are totally removeable and they are cheap as chips. Seems to fit the OP's brief.1

I need a couple, so I might get one, go second hand for another. Definitely need it for Christmas, which kind of puts me on a tighter schedule.mrschaucer said:Ektorps are comfy, the covers are totally removeable and they are cheap as chips. Seems to fit the OP's brief.

Catsacor said:I'll second Sofa Sofa, I bought 3 sofas and 3 tub chairs to dress a house I was selling so I was more interested in price than anything else. I still have them 5 years later, one of which is doing sterling service in my kitchen. I've been very impressed with their comfort and quality even though they were bought purely based on price.
I knew someone who recovered sofas and chairs. After doing a couple of DFS ones, they refused any more since the build quality was awful, frames had split inside etc.gazman100 said:Can you elaborate on why not please? Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -
My only advice would be to buy the best you can afford as you’ll likely spend a fair amount of time sitting on it (‘in’ it if it’s good quality). Same with bed mattresses. I’ve never understood people skimping on something they’ll be using for around 1/3rd of their lives.0

Tempted by SofaSofa, though the 8 week lead time is a pain. If I buy a second hand instead or as well as, what should I be looking for to make sure it's got decent build quality?
