a moped that has a 2 speed semi auto (or is that fully auto( gear box that uaes ATF , this is an OLD moped , not a modern rev n go single speed from china
spec says to use ATF type a MINERAL , type a has long gone been superseaded , and if you follow oil makers trail many disagree with each other
the bike has dexron type 111 fully synthenic , and its acting up , this must be wrong because a hardy communist bike is objecting
i can follow links from atf type a to dexron 11 , but it gets hazy in the 70s (wonder why)
I suspect the friction materials used on the "slippers! in the auto clutch are very much like motorcycle clutch plates and object to oil with "friction reducers " (all car oils ) plus the grade of ATF is wrong - the old type f was used on one version of the bike "more grippy"
the only atf i see cropping up on cross refs is the comma oils aqf , which is mineral and dexton 11 (not later 111)
anyone remember the correct upgrade from type a ?

You can get "classic ATF" which is dexron IID.Dexron IID is compatible with the type As. It is your best chance now, as you can't get the whale oil any more.Dexron III introduced friction modifiers.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
