Lease is up... £4770 balloon to pay

  • Will the balloon payment come out as my final direct debit? It’s just, I haven’t heard anything from anybody at the dealerships or finance company  (usually they like to rope you in for another car)
  • Just a word about the Hyundai i20: if you like it, keep it and pay the balloon payment and put the monthly payment back in to savings. I recently got rid of my i20, a 2009 model, but only because, as I said in my newsagent window ad "wanted an electric vehicle otherwise would have kept". It was very reliable and the only "breakdown" was when the first battery was at the end of its life, and maintenance costs were limited to consumables - brake pads and tyres.
