Notice Pay Reductions

I've been made redundant after 13 years and the company has gone into liquidation. I've got 12 weeks notice to which I can claim after 18th Jan. I've had to start claiming UC (first payment due 3rd or 4th Dec.) Regarding my notice pay. If I don't manage to find a job until, for example, the 11th week. Will I loose all of my 12 weeks notice pay? I would stand to loose around £6K?

Comments

  • No, you will receive notice pay for every week that you have a loss of income. If you start new employment after week 10, for example, you would only lose weeks 11 and 12.  There may be a reduction to repay some benefits received.
