Two story extension and right of light

Hello, I would like to build a two story extension to the side of my house, however my neighbours already have a single story extension with skylights installed so it is likely my extension would block some of their light. I'm just wondering if they have any grounds to object? I have uploaded a satellite image and drawn in red where I am planning on building.

Whatever they have down that side can't be a 'habitable' room as it can't have proper windows facing onto your land.Light probably isn't an issue but I wonder what the council's position will be on building two storeys up to the boundary. They may not like the 'terracing effect' of you doing that. Some pre-application advice would be beneficial.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

“Whatever they have down that side can't be a 'habitable' room as it can't have proper windows facing onto your land.”Those rooflights could be additional windows to ‘proper’ windows on the front or rear. If they have front/rear windows, the room(s) will meet BR’s. If they don’t have windows, the rooms leading to the Hall would also meet BR’s. As we all know, people like to tinker with their layouts post BR completion and from an estate agents’ point of view, they couldn’t care less whether the rooms meet the means of escape requirements and would therefore still be classed as habitable.@CliftonClimbs If those rooflights are additional/secondary to their rooms, your proposal would not be an issue in terms of loss of outlook or daylight. They have every right to comment/object but doesn’t mean Planning would be refused.
Whatever design you’re considering, your proposal would obviously need to meet the Council’s Planning policies and any relevant supplement planning or design guidance. The Council’s website should have this information online. You could also check other local Planning applications for similar proposals. The online application in some cases provides the Planning Officers’ report or assessment along with the relevant Planning policy and guidance documents.0
