Self Isolated, don't earn enough to claim ssp

Hi all,
I have had to self isolate for the 2nd time. My son had symptoms way back in the early days of covid, I work part time and found out that I don't earn enough to claim SSP. I lost my Dad 2 weeks ago to covid, and obviously went to see my mum for the weekend of his death. She had to do a test on the Monday and it came back positive. I had to self isolate again for the 2 weeks, and again I won't receive SSP. Does anyone know if there is any sort of benefit that I could claim. My husband works, but his earnings just cover what he has to pay out each month. Thank you in advance

Some councils were/are doing discretionary grants to people in this situation. Maybe worth checking with yours.0

The form you posted is when the employee isn't entitled to SSP, the employer fills it in and the employee then makes a claim for New style ESA but whether the OP can claim this will depend on their NI contributions in tax years April 2017 to March 2019.OP look at claiming New style ESA. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-style-employment-and-support-allowance

Part C requires the employer to go through all the reasons why the employee might not be entitled to SSP and select the correct one. That process should confirm whether or not the employer is right not to pay SSP. I drew OP's attention to Page 6 which refers to, amongst other possibilities, new style JSA and new style ESA.0

OP, you are obviously on a low income yourself even when working. Obviously I have no idea how much your husband’s earnings are. Regardless of you current problem with self isolation have you ever used a benefit calculator to check whether you are entitled to any financial support? https://www.gov.uk/benefits-calculators. Do you currently claim any benefits?Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.2

Self isolation payments through track and trace not eligible for thousands of low income families who have had to isolate due to year bubbles closing in schools but not entitled to the £500 payment as it was the school not NHS track and trace that have asked children and staff to isolate!0
