shifting position of radiator

In our family room there is space to put a three seater sofa, but for a radiator which is on the wall in the corner.
Is there any chance we could move the radiator by 40 cm forwards along the wall so as to free the space.
Floor is tiled. And I understand the tiles have to be removed/replaced underneath the radiator.
Obviously we would like to keep the cost down, but who should we contact to get this job done? As it involved removing and replacing tiles as well as soldering work for central heating pipe.

If the new place for the radiator is next to the sofa, I can imagine plastic pipes on the wall behind both. Very easy job even for a DIYer.
  • what about fixed copper pipes coming out of the tiled floor? How do we deal with those?

If you can't do it for yourself, get a plumber in to put 40cm extensions on the pipes to allow the radiator to be refitted further along the wall.  80cm of pipe and 4 bends will do the job.

  • you mean without damaging the floor and present copper pipes?

    Absolutely.
And with plastic pipes behind the radiator I meant something like this (the bottom right image - ignore the rest)
