adamdynamic said:Apologies for dredging up an old thread - as I explain in my edit to the original post above, this thread appears as one of the top search results when you search for "Solar Together Kent" so wanted to warn other people of my experiences with the scheme over the last 12+ months. In summary, I wouldn't recommend it2 Separate arrays, 7 x JASolar 380w panels (2.66kWp) south facing, 4 x JASolar 380w panels (1.52kWp) east facing, 11 x Tigo optimizers & cloud, Growatt SPH5000, Growatt 6.5kWh Hybrid battery (Go-live 01/12/21) - Additional reporting via Solar Assistant.0

Spies said:So is it still not completed?Correct - as noted above, the work remains half (ish) finished. Haven't heard from them in weeks and no work done in months. The company is called EEC Solar based in Southport. I think they have won contracts with councils in a few areas for the Solar Together scheme, so possible that others outside of Kent will face the same problems (their recent Trustpilot reviews suggest that's the case).ggmf said:Would you be able to confirm which company completed the install or message me the company name?

adamdynamic thank you, I'm having issues with a Kent based installer.2 Separate arrays, 7 x JASolar 380w panels (2.66kWp) south facing, 4 x JASolar 380w panels (1.52kWp) east facing, 11 x Tigo optimizers & cloud, Growatt SPH5000, Growatt 6.5kWh Hybrid battery (Go-live 01/12/21) - Additional reporting via Solar Assistant.1

Having the same issue as "QrizB" but I have been waiting since March 2019 (when they approved the application.) Finally did a partial install in December 2021 and still have scaffolding up around the house with no date for when they are going to complete the work. Scaffolding was put up incorrectly and has caused damage to my house and despite repeated attempts to get them to even move/adjust the scaffolding they have still done nothing. When I ring, they just say that the person dealing with it is not available and all the managers are in meetings.

Found this whilst trying to work out what to do for solar on my roof.
We just had our quote back through Solar Together in London and the price seems very high.
6 x 380w panels (so 2.3kw?) for £4800. You get a better deal from the Eon website. I did sign up for a quote last May and the figure then was around £3900, so taking the vat off the price is up by £1200.
Looks like I need to find a local installer to do this instead.

It seems to be an inherent problem in council collective schemes everywhere that the winning bid has to present terms that are not realistic or possible. Hence the winner ends up getting fired by the council, or unable to actually staff the scale of the commitment they have made. You want an aspiring medium sized company with good experience. In Kent, use Daryl/Mike at Light Renewables, Jamie Thompson at Energy My Way, or Rahi Vakani at Solar4good. They all provided me with excellent quotes and clearly knew their stuff. I went for Light Renewables because it was particularly important for me to have optimisers and they had the best price on Solaredge I could find, but all seem pretty good to me.
