Hello,
I am with AOL broadband. Over the last few weeks it has been cutting out frequently when I am online and saying there has been an interruption, reloading itself only to cut out yet again.
Today the following message has popped up at the bottom of the screen:
"AOL Unified Sys Tray - AOL Sofware.exe
The file or directory... is corrupt and unreadable - run check disk utility".
I have no idea what this means or what I should do to run a "check disk utility".
Please can anyone help?
It probably isn't coincidental that AOL asked me to take part in a "connectivity trial" (what connectivity:mad: !) which required me to download some sofware - I did so but now every time I log on the first screen I get keeps asking me to reload the same software. So I have to press download and then cancel it - any tips on how to stop this would be great too.
Many thanks for any help - hopefully I'll be able to stay logged on long enough to read it!!

Try uninstalling the software in control panel, add remove programs.
I doubt this (checkdisk) will fix it, but won't do any harm
start
run
chkdsk c: /F/R
then rebootEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
