I'm looking for the best gaming pc I can get for preferably under £500 but under £600 at a push.My son has found a Tornado R3 amd Ryzen 3 GTX 1650 from currys for about £540 he likes but I just wondered if there is anything similar or better for less money. Many thanks.

A lot depends on the sort of games you want to play.If your main aim is to play Minecraft, you don't need an all-singing, all-dancing machine for that. For more advanced games that look semi-realistic like Call of Duty, Flight Sim, Cities Skylines, etc, you'd need something a bit more powerful than one just to do Minecraft.0

I'm guessing rocket league ,fortnite and call of duty .0

Have you thought about building your own? It's really not that difficult and would make a nice Dad/Son project and with some careful shopping you'll get a better spec machine. My build came out around £400 without a graphics card, that's a Ryzen 5 3400G, 16GB of 3200 DDR4 Ram Sabrent 256GB M.2 NVMe SSD Boot drive, Kingston 500GB SSD storage, add £150 for a GTX 1650 and you get a better spec for the same money.bendonagasaki said:https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/gaming/pc-gaming/gaming-pcs/pc-specialist-tornado-r3-gaming-pc-amd-ryzen-3-gtx-1650-1-tb-hdd-256-gb-ssd-10205557-pdt.html

Check out the main games builders, they are building machines close to component cost.0 -
For budget gaming PCs my suggestion would be perfect tech reviews. They have best and cheapest PCs available.-4

Is 'Budget Gaming PC' not an oxymoron?I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0

IvanOpinion said:Is 'Budget Gaming PC' not an oxymoron?Depends on definition (and amount) of budget. And what you want to play of course. If your aim is primarily Dos-based/retro games and Minecraft, that can technically count as a gaming machine.Component shortages though have pushed up prices dramatically with no end in sight to "normal" prices until the end of next year. Graphics Cards particularly affected, but SSDs are cheaper than ever.0
