Paying Santander cheques in to the Post Office
alternate
My boss wants me to take a bunch of cheques to the PO and bank them.
She swears blind I only need the paying in book. Says that is how she does it.
Both the PO site and Santander site say you need a paying in slip and a bank branded envelope.
Anyone have experience of this or an I going to look like an idiot at the post office?
oh, and it is a corporate account so I apparently can't just go to a santander branch and do it.
thx

I pay all my cheques into my bank via a photo these days but when I payed in via the post office in the past, yes I had as you say branded envelopes to pay into Santander.I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0 -
Your PO may let you get away with it. mine does because its so hard to get the slips - the envelopes you just order from Santandar0

At my PO you need the special envelope, I've forgotten the paying in slip in the past but the money still finds its way to the right place. Santander are very slow with post, I ordered a statement I needed for ID purposes but had to find another way round it because they took so long.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I have always needed a paying in slip in a proper Santander envelope to pay cheques in to the Post Office0

The Post Office probably provided an envelope when your boss visited - hopefully they will have one when you go too but it would be a good idea to order some1

Santander says you can post cheques to its processing centre in an ordinary envelope.
You don't need a paying-in slip as long as you put your post code, sort code and account number on the back (in pen?) and send it to: Santander Processing, P.O.Box 12644, Harlow, CM20 9QH.
See https:// www. santander.co.uk/ personal/ support/ ways-to-bank/ cheques [you can reassemble that if you want to use it!] for that info and other ways of doing it, e.g. at a post office. I've found our local post office staff very helpful in providing an envelope if you prefer to do it that way, and you don't need to pay postage!
NOTE that Santander says that depositing it at a post office may involve extra delay, and of course there will also be another wait once Santander receive it before you can use the money in your account.
As a security precaution, they also recommend that you photograph the front and back of your cheque.
