Green homes grand baffled it fails to include roofs

Is anybody else baffled that the Green Homes grant does not include re-roofs or roof repairs. If you have an insufficient roof then no measures are going to be as effective as they could be. It seems to defeat the objective in the government’s oversight to include roofing. What do you all think ?

The scheme covers loft insulation, flat roof insulation, pitched roof insulation and room in roof insulation? The scheme isn't about general maintenance - if your roof leaks, or is ready for an overhaul, thats on you.1

In general, a standard tiled or flat roof itself won't provide much in the way of decent insulation for the property that it covers as the insulation will be either laid between the joists at the bottom of the loft space or between the rafters at the top of the loft space (or sometimes both). The tiles themselves are only there to keep the building dry and not really to keep the cold out.0

It doesnt cover TV's either. I have a very old TV that uses a lot of energy, I really fancy an OLED one and they are much more efficient, but apparently they're not included in the grant scheme. Madness2

I think if I were to come round to your house, I'd probably find an old, tired roof that needs replacement.BeckyB_2 said:Is anybody else baffled that the Green Homes grant does not include re-roofs or roof repairs. Depending on the insulation that you have in your attic at the moment, if you do get your roof replaced then if that insulation doesn't meet the current requirement of 270mm thickness, you will also have to improve it to meet this standard.
The green scheme may cover some or all of the cost for this.0
