I've just got a 4k tv, I have an Amazon Prime fire box (not stick), had it for maybe 5 years, I know Prime has a lot in 4k but do I need to get a 4K stick to see 4K product?
Also, if I subscribe to Netflix but watch it through the app on the Firebox wont that have the same issue of potentially non-4K images too? I've tried to Google the answer but its all a bit confusing. In a nutshell- what do I need to do to get a 4K image when available? Regards, Tim.

With Netflix you would have to subscribe to their "Ultra HD" plan.

If it's Amazon content yes you would need to buy a 4K Amazon Stick.
As for Netflix you can sign up for 4K Netflix to give you the 4K stuff.0 -
Do you not have Prime app on TV as that will show Prime 4k content .4k content on YouTube as well .0

If the source device providing the signal to the TV cannot serve a 4K signal then it does not matter what the quality of the material is - the device can only ever provide the maximum resolution it is designed for.
As per above, the new TV almost certainly has the Netflix and Amazon apps preloaded. These will give true 4K display if the source material is 4K. Also as said above, you'd need a Netflix Ultra HD plan to get 4K material from them.0 -
Fab- thanks for the advice. Yes the TV does have Prime App but I find the dialect lags when played through the 5.1 but the firebox doesn't. Might have another fiddle with it.0
