Legal requirement to have a spare tyre?
Comments

It is not a requirement to have either.
What you do about it is up to you really. Talk nicely to the dealer.2 -
I haven't had a new car with a spare tyre for 12 years. My newest (BMW 2 series) doesn't even have a compressor, probably because it has run flat tyres.0

Unsure if it's required to have one by law when sold a new vehicle.
If you choose to buy a car without, then it would probably be a wise addition.
Most recovery services will charge if you require assistance after a puncture if you do not have the manufacturer-provided equipment in serviceable condition - but, of course, the manufacturer may not have provided anything.0 -
Is this you trying to find an angle to assist with rejecting the car and ending the PCP deal?

It’s not a legal requirement to carry a spare wheel, though I believe that if you do then it has to be road-legal. Thus, you won’t fail an MoT test if you don’t have a spare wheel but you will fail if you have one that’s below the legal minimum read depth, for example.0

You can have a fully legal space saver but if fitted during the test your vehicle will fail.0 -

A spare wheel is not inspected as part of the MOT for the simple reason that it's not fitted to the vehicle, merely something that is being carried and in reality is no different to having a set of spare bulbs in the glovebox.1 -
Bang goes another urban myth then2
