Bulb Standard Tarriff Vs MSE Energy Club
Hi all.
I get emails fairly regularly from MSE's Energy Club saying I can make savings because I am on my energy provider's stanfard tarriff.
Now, as I understand it, Bulb don't have introductory deals and 20 packages to choose from, they only do a standard tarriff. I've found them cheaper than previous providers, and also I used their refer a friend scheme and got a lot of £50 credits on my bill. Now time has passed, many people I know are on Bulb so I can't keep doing the referrals, so I'm simply paying the monthly bills as normal on their only tarriff.
So my question is, how competitive are Bulb these days? Is the energy club email correct when it says I shoudl get off Standard Tarriff? Should I be looking to switch away from Bulb? They seemed very reasonable to me but I'm not sure how to make a proper comparison.
Thanks

They're not at all competitive, as their own website admits.Start by comparing with Citizens Advice and 'Switch with Which?' and find a competitive tariff for your annual kWh usage based on actual meter readings. Just compare annual costs, ignore all projections and savings claims. Separate suppliers are often cheaper.1
