Faulty TV help

Options
Hello everyone,
I'm looking for some advice on a faulty TV.
I brought the it on the 8/6/19 and last night a horizontal line appeared across it.
My 12 months warranty has expired and I'm not sure what I can now do the TV was brought from a shop that sold it as refurbished
Any help would be appreciated

Your statutory rights will be with the company you bought it from which will include a requirement for reasonable durability (which will consider the fact it wasnt brand new).

In the first instance contact the retailer and see what they say. Its fairly likely they will require you to get an engineer report on the item which they are entitled to request given the fact that its over 6 months since the purchase; the cost of the report can be added to your claim if the report is favourable.

Refurb TV well over one year since purchase .What price was the TV .
Have you tried a factory reset to make sure ??
  • The TV cost 1300 the company I brought it from is a sale service and repair shop for electrical goods
Does a warranty only count for brand new goods not refurbished ones

That depends on the warranty and it's irrelevant since it's expired anyway.  If you were given a warranty by the shop that refurbished it and sold it to you, that probably started on the day of purchase.

Forget the warranty, Sandtree's advice is correct if you wish to try and claim under your statutory consumer rights.
