Morning all! Chilly, rainy and yukky. I showed the front garden who was boss yesterday, pruned all the rosemaries and the quince bush and then sewpt the leaves up that had got mounded around those, not so easy on gravel but hey ho, pulled all the dying borage and chucked it on a bed in the back garden, pulled up weeds and grannies bonnets that had infested the gravel and will have to go out again to get all the nigella seedlings in there too. Took down the beans from the back garden and redistributed the borage onto that large bed on top of some cardboard, and chucked a bit of earth on top. Removed the top layers of the compost bin to get to the good stuff and threw that on there too. All told, two and half hours work which resulted in a dead arm, dead leg and a seriously annoyed ankle.Today, I potter. The magic cupboard is doing it's thing and it's wash day which means the tumble drier will be on after. We kept the fire in overnight with one fo the magic peat bricks but it's really struggling to get going this monring. I've poked and prodded it numerous times but it's staying determindly sullen. Oh and now I have a bucket of ash to chuck on the big bed out the back too.Ruby, fingers and legs crossed for you. Good luck everyone else with a freezing cold Friday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

Morning, drizzly and miserable today, shame after yesterday when I had a nice walk to the hill at the back of the park . From there you can see the moors which I always find very soothing. Then down again through the main park and home.Plenty of people walking with it being so nice.Red Ruby, almost time- good luck today and thanks Nelski for the updatesCooking a gammon today. Also 1 loaf done and another on the cards once the bm has cooled down enough. I made sweet potato soup yesterday which turned out to be yummy, even DH said so
I'll have some more for my lunch.
I am wrapping DGS birthday pressies in a mo after I've got the whole haul out and decide which to leave for Xmas.Warm wishes to all the poorly tums, and the rest of you too:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11 -
Hello everyone I'm so sorry to be late to the party today but DD called in after the school run as she's been given a "wellbeing " day off so she's was going to take all the presents and wrap them. She opened all the new parcels and realised 2 were missing, over £200 worth
It seems they had been delivered on the 17th (we were in btw) and they had put them in an outhouse, ah yes but it turns out it wasn't ours, it was next door's which is still empty
. Good job she came as we wouldn't have known anything about it and we had the thought of checking next door. The toysrus warehouse however has now been emptied except for my goods although she's left all the packaging for us to recycle. So glad we're good for something these days
The Morries delivery arrived yesterday with 1 sub, a small gammon joint instead of large but I have no problem with that I ll just buy another to go with it, however they did send kidney instead of liver and it wasn't noticed till the driver had left. So now it will be steak and kidney pudding or pie instead of Nelski's liver and onions, which I was really looking forward tooNever mind worse things happen at sea.
I have done 2 loads of clothes in the wm this morning but it will have to dry indoors as guess what ? it's raining again ! The bedding yesterday was soaked twice too while we were at Dad'sTea tonight will be a chicken burger in a bun with salad. Am I the only one here who still craves chocolate ? Unfortunately now I've got the wine gum craving too .... and I've got a big box of those with my name on themCan't see my diet progressing much before Xmas.

NAN you are not alone with choccy and sweetie cravings, the longing hasn't gone away for me either. But the outcome of not being able to pop in every sweet shop I passed, combined with my weekly and fortnightly lunch meet ups with my buddies banned, I have lost 9 lbs since the lockdowns and strict local restrictions were imposed on us back in March!! Every cloud and all that! But I am making sure I have a bag of Haribos to hand every Saturday for my Strictly treat!
Thinking of RUBY who will now be under and am praying for good news when we get NELS' update x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
TA 9lbs that's good going, well done. I've lost 5 and I am trying not to put it back on by comfort eating when I get stressed, which seems to be quite often theses days. I can no longer distract myself by going out either

Afternoon - just popped back to see if there's any word on RR, probably far too early for that.My bargain coat arrived from Fenwick's, not due until Monday so that's great service. I put it on immediately to wear in the rain so I'm chuffed with it, especially with getting it for £130 less than list price.I'll peek back later.11
