Here at Virgin Radio, we're very excited for Sky VIP's brand new competition, which is giving away an incredible treasure horde of 24oz of gold. That's in honour of the launch of discovery+ on Sky Q, and the Ultimate Gold collection, where you can watch over 700 hours of treasure-hunting TV.

To celebrate, we're going to be doing our very own Golden Giveaway, giving a couple of lucky Virgin Radio listeners the chance to win their own 1oz golden nugget on the Chris Evans Breakfast show with Sky on Thursday and Friday this week.

To take part, text 'Sky', followed by your name to 87222.

If selected, you'll come to air and be given the choice of using 'GOLDEN' or 'NUGGET', as your helpful hint, as each letter of the word will be what the answer of your questions will begin with.

If you answer all 6 questions right in a row, and get to the end of your chosen word you've won yourself an ounce of gold, and Sky Q free for a year. Both days we guarantee one winner, so we'll keep playing during the show until someone has the skills to get a full house.

Discovery+ Terms and Conditions

There will be 3 x winners who will each receive the following prize:

1 x Sky Q Complete Bundle TV package including Sky Sports Complete and Sky Cinema

 - 1 x Sky Q Multiscreen subscription; and

 - Free standard installation provided by Sky subject to the Prize Conditions

 - Sky will also loan the prize winner 1 x Sky Q 2TB box and 1 x Sky Q Mini box at no charge

1 x One (1)-ounce gold bar

The Prize will be subject to the Prize Conditions (as defined below)

The following terms shall apply to the Sky Q Prize (the “Prize Conditions”):

The winner will be required to enter into a new Sky Q TV subscription contract. If the winner is an existing Sky TV customer, your existing Sky TV subscriptions will come to an end and you must enter into a new Sky Q TV subscription contract.

After your 12 month free Sky Q TV subscription comes to an end, standard subscription length (18 months) and prices at the time of re-contracting will apply, unless you change or cancel your package, giving Sky at least 31 days’ notice. Standard subscription prices may change. Please refer to www.sky.com for current pricing. You must be over 18 and resident in the United Kingdom.

The Prize does not include:

A broadband subscription (to experience Sky Q features to the full, we recommend connecting your boxes to home broadband); 

Sky Box Office, Sky Store purchases/rentals, Stand-alone Premium Channels, or pay-per-view services and events

Watching on an extra TV screen comes at a one-off cost of £99 and Sky will loan you an extra Sky Q Mini at no cost (recommend connecting no more than 4 Sky Q Minis in total)

The winner must get any consents required (e.g. landlord’s) prior to installation.

Winners must redeem the prize within a year. Winners who are in a current pay-TV contract with another provider may defer their Prize for a maximum of 12 months from the date of winning.  If a winner does not redeem his/her Prize within 12 months from the date of winning, this could result in loss of the Prize.  If the winner has a previous uncleared debt with Sky the winner will not be able to take up the Prize until this debt has been fully cleared.  

There is no cash alternative to the Prize or any element thereof and unless agreed otherwise in writing the Prize is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Sky reserves the right to refuse or withdraw the Prize if a winner or a party authorised by the winner to act on their behalf, threatens or abuses a Staff employee or otherwise conducts themselves in a manner that Sky reasonably regards as inappropriate, offensive or unlawful.

Prize winner will own the Sky dish. The Sky Q box, the Sky Q Mini and all other Sky Q kit is loaned to the winner at no cost and must be returned when the winner’s 12 month prize subscription terminates or when the winner leaves Sky, whichever is earlier. Mechanical faults with the Sky Q kit will be repaired at no cost.

Sky Q installations currently average a 28 day waiting period (Covid 19 safety requirements and guidelines allowing)

The following terms shall apply to the Gold Bar Prize (the “Prize Conditions”):

The 1-ounce gold bar is valued at approximately £1,600/ €1,798 per ounce as of 19th November 2020.  The price of gold fluctuates daily, and this is an approximate value. Discovery and Sky are not liable for any decrease in value of the gold.

In order for the winner to receive the gold bar, the prize provider will require a copy of the winner’s ID (driving licence or passport) and copy of a recent proof of address dated within the last 3 months to proceed with secure delivery of the prize. Personally identifying information and data ("Personal Data") which is provided by entrants when entering the prize draw will be held and used by the Promoter and their service providers, network operators, suppliers and contractors in order to administer and fulfil the prize draw and prize in connection with entry to the prize draw.

The winner will need to confirm their full details including delivery address to the prize provider by 27th November 2020

Subject to the winner providing their home address to the prize provider by 27th November 2020, the 1-ounce gold bar will be delivered to the winner’s home address by 24th December 2020

The winner must be present to accept the prize at the address

The winner is responsible for updating their home insurance policy

If the Prize or any element of it, is cancelled, changed, postponed or relocated, we may give you a similar prize instead. We will not offer any form of compensation, financial or otherwise.

The prize is for the winner’s personal use only
