Bulb unit prices - incorrect on all comparison sites?!

Hi all,

I have been with Bulb for a couple of years now, and been relatively pleased with price and service. However, after two tariff increases, I've started doing some shopping around.

What concerns me is that all the comparison sites seem to have different unit prices than what are on my bill (bearing in mind  Bulb only has one tariff - Vari-Fair), therefore the results I'm getting are largely inaccurate when quoting me on savings etc. Am I missing something? I'm comparing gas & electric unit prices and standing charge, and when compared to my bill, Bulb is nearly always cheaper (I only look at companies with decent star ratings).

If I was to blindly trust the comparison site (which I'm sure many people do), I would actually be increasing my monthly cost as they've inaccurately (or so it seems) listed my current unit price/standing charge.

Does Bulb's tariff vary depending on location? That is the only reason I can think for this. Either that or the comparison sites have the tariff prices listed wrong, or my bill does.... which is even more concerning!

Prices on your bills will be excluding VAT. Add 5% and see if the figures are then the same.

.... well, that's embarassing! I could have sworn I'd already checked that, and was happy that it stated including VAT. Just double checked now upon reading your comment, and that part of my bill has mysteriously vanished!!!.... Yes, you're right  (It's been a long day, I blame home-schooling)
