Morrisons and asda are the best at getting tickets cancelled

  • Well done - Plan A works again. :)

Check on the PPC website that the PCNs are indeed cancelled. (They should show as such or show £0.00 owing).
    Hello Were_Doomed,

    Thank you for the advice.

There does not appear to be an obvious way to check the status of a parking charge on the Euro Car Parks website.
However, I did enter one of the ref numbers in the pay ticket field and I received a message stating the ticket had been passed on to Debt Recovery Plus and redirected me to the Recovery Debt Plus website. I guess I should hold back from celebrating just yet as it looks as if the tickets have not been cancelled.

I'll wait until after the weekend and check on Monday for any change in the ticket status.

    Thanks again.

I'm almost in disbelief why/how anyone racks up a >3-hour charge at Ms. The ones I know are hardly an hour's worth of being there - even if you have to wait almost an hour for a burnt cheese toastie!

Even if a charge is triggered, I've yet to see Ms refuse to cancel.  Asda too are pretty clued in on customer care when preventing third parties threatening their profit line - why have them in the first place?

    Easy peasy.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

My local Morrison's has a cafe/restaurant , with adjacent trolley park with large locker cabinets to park your trolley whilst in the café

So I can understand the 3 hour rule even if not shopping and only meeting people for lunch etc

I don't understand the less than 3 hours rules , especially Lidl or Aldi never mind Morrisons, whereas I can understand a rule that stops people parking and going to work nearby all day for example , 4 hours seems reasonable to me , especially in seaside towns or cities

The right to extend is also a good idea for people who qualify under the EA2010 , like the OP , for whatever reason , including breakdown issues on the car park too

The local car park also houses a franchised tyre popup garage , those people go round the car park looking for work on the parked vehicles , creepy !!

Well done. I am so pleased for you.

Until you get confirmation from the scammers, the only way to check the status of the scamvoices is to go to use the payment portal of their website, which is exactly what you have already done.
If they aren't all showing cancelled in a week's time, I would contact the person in Customer Services you have been dealing with and mention that the PPC haven't cancelled them yet.
    Thank you Fruitcake,

    I will do just that.

    Have a great day.
  • Hello everyone,

Today I found an email in my junk mail folder, received yesterday, from Euro Car Park's solicitors, SCS-Law, stating the following:

    "Dear Mr xxxxx,

    Thank you for your email.

My client has confirmed that the PCNs are now cancelled. Accordingly, we have closed our file.

    Kind regards,"

Despite the fact that the parking charges are still with 'Debt Recovery Plus' and not cancelled, I think I can safely now relax in the knowledge this nightmare is finally over.  :D

Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable Christmas.

    Many many thanks again.  :)

Oh and my local MP has also just confirmed he will be happy to contact Euro Car Parks on my behalf.
Good, have you pointed out your rights and the service providers' legal duty under the EA 2010, so he/she has the same knowledge as you, that the treatment you have suffered is in fact, illegal?

You need to state this really robustly to all parties and arm your MP with that fact as well.  Someone will backtrack in the end and these PCNs will be cancelled IMHO.
    Hello Coupon-mad,

As well as my MP I have contacted the CEO of Morrison's and Euro Car Parks Solicitors with slightly different messages but all  contain a paragraph that includes the following sentences:

'a stroke survivor is LEGALLY entitled to a 'reasonable adjustment of more time'

'cite 'disability discrimination' under the Equality Act 2010'

'no provision for people with protected medical characteristics by offering any information about how to ask for more time as is their legal right under the Equality Act 2010'

'Morrison's and  Euro Car Parks Ltd, are 'jointly liable' for indirect discrimination'

So happy that going on the attack worked for you.  Remember that you have the right to extra time at such retail car parks  - so ask at the CS desk.
