Furlough advice

I’ve been offered a job at a COVID test center but I’m on furlough from my perm I ant hairdressing job. Do I need to tell my normal employer and what happens to my furlough money ?

You can have a second job but the point of furlough is that you are able to return to your normal job. Lets say you take this second job, and then one day the hairdressers ring you and ask you to go back in tomorrow. Would you be in a position to do so?

Also bear in mind if you earn over £12.5kpa from the hairdressing job you will be taxed on every single penny of your second job.

You need to look at your contract of employment. Usually you have to seek your employer's permission to do another job, if the first job is full time, for obvious reasons.

This sounds great.  You can now get your haircut while waiting for a Covid test
