Hi all,
So I am about to buy a new desktop PC, however in the descriptions it says this:
DisplayPort 1.2 (UMA only)
HDMI 1.4 (UMA only)
What does UMA only mean? It sounds kind of restricting. Not sure I want to have restrictions on my HDMI ports! It's a top end computer, so just want to know what it actually means, and if it's good or bad? I had a search on the internet but not much,
Thanks,

It means those ports are only for output from the integrated graphics. For a traditional desktop this is normal and doesn't matter. If you install a separate graphics card that card has its own HDMI ports. For an all-in-one or a laptop, or anything else that doesn't have PCIe slots, it might be an issue.

It stands for Unified Memory Access, i.e. the built in motherboard GPU uses the same main memory as the CPU.1

Okay thanks. I'm not going to be doing any separate fancy graphics card stuff so it's all good. Thanks!0
