Booking.com refusing refund

  • The landlord has just got back to me saying that this particular property is virtually fully booked for next August (likely our preferred travel time)but has 12 other apartments in an adjoining building so is happy to accommodate us, so at least he is sticking by his promise (hopefully). 
    Booking.com have gone very quiet on the matter but have sent me a survey email asking what I think of their customer service !!!
    Suggestions ??

    That's why review sites are worthless. If people don't get the outcome they want they slate the service/company.
