Morning all. A wet one here but at some point I need to get out and do my 6000 steps for the day. I'm trying to keep this going during Lockdown 2 and have only missed one day so far.
Today has been designated a housework day so I need to clean the bathroom, do the ironing and maybe a bit of dusting and hoovering, although I might be able to persuade DH to help out with that.
I have sausages defrosting ready to go in the slow cooker with some onions and leeks. Might add the last couple of frozen red wine cubes as well - we do know how to live!
Happy Thursday everyone.11 -
Damn, lost my post, but it wasn't very exciting and it was quite short [ yes, it is possible! ], basically, I've got up, Ive lit the fire because it's damn cold, I'm going to do some much needed excericse, I'm making something in the slow cooker for supper although it might turn into sausage and mash because that will be easier and I don't feel like another 'let's eat the same thing three days running' thing.Ruby, the poo sounds intriguing, what about having a beetroot so it goes purple? Will be thinking of you tomorrow. Bella, good luck, builders house [ the one I've known] are always ropey because of busmans holiday syndrome..WL, so people actually do have leftover wine? Shocked me! Nelski, Eggs Benedict? Now that sounds like a potential breakfast...nom nom...Right, stay tucked up warm and dry on Thursday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

Morning all.
Good Heavens. Everyone is up and about early this morning, or is it me being even later than usual?
RedRuby. Will be thinking of you today and tomorrow. Keep your mind fixed on Saturday when it will all be over. Or at least, the worst bit will be. Enjoy the blue wee. Are you selling tickets?
'
Dumpling, take it slowly. Youve been through a gruelling time and it will slow progress now. You are very brave.
Nelski, eggs Benedict sounds unbelievably posh. I take it they are served with Melba toast and lashings of Champagne. I won't even mention my porridge.
WL, enjoy your housework day, (hollow laughter) and good luck with getting the DH to help.
taff, sausage and mash sounds perfect.
I've forgotten everything else and if I go back to look I'll lose this post and have to fall on my sword.
Today it will be more moving stuff around in the hopes of getting a quart into a pint pot. Food today, I'm not sure. I still have some cooked chicken in the fridge which would go well with some salad and a jacket potato, or if I've time and inclination I might make it into a chicken pie, but don't hold out much hope of that happening. Or I may well abandon all sensible ideas and have cheese on toast.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's what you're made of, not the circumstances.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Morning all, I'm late to the party today, it's a bit chaotic here. The joiner and his mate won't be long on finishing the work in the kitchen, then the man is coming to connect the gas hob any minute I think.
Dumpling, I'm glad you are feeling a bit better.
Thinking of you RR, hope all goes well. Take care folks

Morning all,
Lovely sunny day but cold.....going to get some apples today as they will all rot if I don't rescue them soon......not sure what I will do with, maybe make some apple cheese as I made jelly earlier in the year so have enough for the year.
Ruby.......thoughts will be with you for next few days......treatment sounds horrific but you are a strong woman who will get over it all and recover well.
Dumpling......take it easy.......recovery is never instant.
OH has just brought me in some brunch so I will wish you all a good day, stay safeWeight 08 February 86kg9 -
I'm late too, although I had an early start with the dog being sick at 5.45
. I decided not to go with DS & DGS to school in case she did it again but she's sleeping now. My shop delivery came and needed to be unpacked and put away, then my veg box. I could hardly fit it all in the fridge. Then there were 2 separate parcel deliveries, I need some lunch- probably finish the tom/basil soup. I think we're having sausages for tea too.
I wanted to pop on to wish RedRuby all the best for the op and subsequent recovery,I'll be thinking of you xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11 -
Good afternoon everyone
Redruby I will also be thinking of you tomorrow for your op and recovery.
My doggie has had to go to the vets today as he couldn’t walk on his front paw. It appears that what they thought had cleared up hasn’t and so they are going to sedate him and operate on it today. Hopefully he will be home later today. He is now 10 so getting on in his doggie years but he’s still quite active.
dumpling - please look after yourself and rest when necessary.
Im having my minor op tomorrow so hopefully by tomorrow evening I should be home, although I’m not very good with general anaesthetic.
hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.11
