Can dealers declare any vehicle as 'spares or repair'?

Yes. I've found that when researching. Like your style.0

Much as I dislike and distrust car dealers I think you have to take this at face value, they have a car that either they know has something wrong with it or they think it might have or will be problematic going forward and don't want to get stung for an expensive warranty claim but it still has some value to someone. The person buying it is buying it on the basis that its spares or repairs with either known or unknown faults. The car should be cheaper because of this and if not then why would anyone buy it over one that was advertised normally. This type of car is really for someone who knows what they are doing and can afford to buy it and repair whatever is wrong with it themselves. Its no good buying this as a retail customer on the expectation that you can then make the dealer pay for repairs on anything that's wrong or subsequently fails, if however the car were advertised as normal and then the dealer tried to sneak "spares or repair" onto the receipt then clearly that's not on.Years ago I bought an MGF with a failed gearbox and a slashed roof, I also found after I bought it that the engine was noisy but I bought it as spares or repair from a dealer who had taken it in as a part ex with known faults and I knew that whatever was wrong with it was my problem. I sorted the engine and other bits and ran it for a few years before moving it on at what I had spent on it so I had two years of motoring for nothing. If you can't fix cars yourself then 1. don't buy anything listed as spares or repairs and 2. don't buy anything french...0
