HSBC app question

Hi,
I’ve recently returned to HSBC after banking elsewhere since 2012 so their app is new to me.
I’m interested at some point in possibly having a credit card with them. Do they give you any offers / indication in the app when you qualify or do you just have to do an application and see what happens?

App never prompted offers to me. That may be because as a general rule I untick/disallow all marketing offers and emails from banks.
To get the credit card, you can directly apply to them.0 -
The app barely does basic banking functions so I doubt it'll be marketing anything.0

Do the application and see what happens. Since they split the bank and made UK customers use a separate app we only get the bare basics. They really need to up their game as they are getting left behind, then again I don't think that is by accident. HSBC will offload us soon.0

Another thing about their app, it doesn't work with Android 10 Go.0

Interestingly my cheque book has just arrived ( very retro I know ) and oddly my branch is shown as “HSBC Premier Banking Operations” with a sort code of 40-11-84 yet I didn’t open a premier account, I wish! Just an HSBC Advance account.0

It is indeed listed as
Hsbc Uk Premier Banking Operations Binley
Coventry

Yep, that’s my sort code. My other accounts that I’ve just opened - savings - are showing as my previous branch from when I had my current account with HSBC before.

That's weird as generally HSBC assign new accounts to generic sort codes unless you open the account in branch. Maybe they have re-assigned this sort code.0

It's nothing specific though, HSBC are introducing local banking apps everywhere on a more modern code base so it's easier for them to push out updates.0
