Myparkingcharge Ticket – your help please

Options
Hi Guys,
I received the below PCN last month in Manchester which is also the first time seeing a notice of this sort. Image 2 is the sign found by where the driver parked. The driver was parked there for about 30 minutes but was told it was ok to park there as the driver was just moving some stuff upstairs. The driver followed the appeal process mentioned in the **NEWBIES!! thread but the appeal was declined.  About 2 weeks later, the driver received a DEMAND FOR PAYMENT letter (Image 3). My question is whether this is a scam and the driver should just ignore the letter or should the driver pay the fine? Many thanks for the help in advance.

    It's not a sc#m , it's not a fine either

It may be enforceable in a court of law , but that is for a judge to decide

    Yes.
or should the driver pay the fine?
Nope, and it's not a fine.

These parking charges were described by MPs as 'an outrageous scam' and £160 was described as unjustified (true).  You can defend in court like everyone else does, as per the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread.  Keep all paperwork.

  • Thank you both for your quick response. The driver just went onto the website www.myparkingcharge.co.uk to check something but after he put his serial number and his reg number in, the below message appeared. This is quite strange because the driver hasn't paid anything. Do you know why this is, or should the driver just wait to see if another letter comes through and use that screenshot as evidence?

  • Settled or closed. Doesn't have to mean paid.
Keep that screenshot fir 6 years

Looks like they merely mean it is at debt letter stage (ignore).
