Certainly wasn't clueless. With a mask on the phone needs to be unlocked by pin code rather than facial recognition and I have lots of apps to search through. Next with 8 tills in the row only 1 was open so a large queue and the checkout operator seemed rushed.KatrinaWaves said:
I’d probably be a bit more patient in the circumstances then. You’re currently threatening to take them to court because you asked for help because you were clueless and someone tried to help. Chill out.Totalguitar2 said:
I'd never used the app before and asked the checkout operator where to scan the code on my phone, she reached and took the phone off me saying she would do it. I guess she was trying to help but the screen repair is over £300 and they must have public liability insurance I would have thought.KatrinaWaves said:How did this occur? They just came up and took your phone off you, or did you request assistance and give them your phone?0 -
I would only accept a proper Apple repair on such a new and expensive phone.Were_Doomed said:Depending on the phone model, a 3rd party repair may void any Apple warranty and/or impact some functionality. (I'm think of the fingerprint sensor/home button issue).0 -
Just had a call from the insurance department of the store chain, they have reviewed the CCTV (which is actually just still photos several seconds apart) and have agreed to pay for the repair. Good result.2

Well I’d suggest in future being prepared before you go in so as not to end up having to physically hand over your phone to another person...Totalguitar2 said:

However miraculously this has resolved as is normal on these threads. Weeks of court threats and all it takes is a few hours of
people disagreeing with you on MSE. We should be on commission!1
