Hi, I booked flights with Easyjet. I know that I can cancel them without having to pay the cancelling charge (as long as I cancel max 14 days before departure?). But I also thought I could ask for a full refund, not just a voucher. Cannot find anything about it on the website.
Thanks.

My understanding is that you can change your flight up to 14 days before departure, without incurring their usual rebooking charge (but still paying any difference in fare), but to the best of my knowledge they haven't introduced any policy of suddenly making all bookings refundable, which would cost them a fortune!

Unsure if there are any voucher offers just now, what does Manage Your Booking show as options?

where have you seen that information?
Unless it has changed (and not publicised) vouchers and refunds are only available where Easyjet have cancelled the flights. If flight still operating then your options are to change your flight
  • Yes the OP has misread something. They offered me a refund last week but only because they cancelled all their flights to Amsterdam on the day we were meant to go.

Due to a number of countries imposing quarantine restrictions, we understand that customers may wish to change their travel plans. So to provide customers with some flexibility, we currently have these options available:

    • If you are booked on a flight to or from a destination subject to quarantine restrictions and due to fly within 14 days, you can now transfer your flight without a change fee by contacting our Customer Services Team here. Any requests must be made within seven days of the respective government announcing the quarantine restriction.
    • If your flight with us is more than 14 days away, our normal terms and conditions apply and you will be able to transfer your flight without a change fee online through Manage Bookings on our website or through the mobile app. You can make these changes directly and do not need to contact our Customer Services Team.

Please note in both cases, if the new fare is higher, you’ll be asked to pay the fare difference only*

  • You've either assumed (very) incorrectly, or have read something wrong.
Unless Easyjet cancel the flight, you're not entitled to anything other than their terms and conditions say, which certainly won't be a refund - airlines are not handing out any money unless they absolutely have to.

Unless they cancel, the best you'll get is a voucher / reschedule.

I finally got a better idea.
    1) I was wrong in thinking that Easy Jet gives a refund or voucher for flights cancelled by the customer (I got confused as I did that with BA).
    2) If I cancel my flight by 14 days before the departure I can rebook without a change fee.
    3) Having understood all the above, I was still wondering ''how can I rebook a flight now when I don't know what will happen next year?''. After ages reading the terms and conditions and on the phone (my attention span has been tested) I understood that I will be able to cancel and rebook once more without paying a change fee, at least until things change again.
    Thanks to all your comments.
  • If you press the cancel flight button you will get nothing.
If they cancel the flight you can claim a full refund.
So you do not cancel but manage the booking to a date next year - if that flight is more expensive you pay the difference.
Move onto next year - if we are in the same situation as now refer back to first point above etc etc.
