Switching from Monzo to Natwest for £125

Hi
Me and partner both have individual Monzo acct and a joint account. This account is mainly used for miscellaneous expenses and out of country travel expenses/holidays.
Now £125 Natwest switch offer is a lucrative one. We both thought- lets switch individual Monzo accts to individual Natwest accts.
After two days of mind-numbing, annoying document uploading on Hooyu, we are waiting for the update from Natwest. Meanwhile, partner received a message from Monzo that his account cannot be switched, they want us to close the joint account too.
Questions:
1. Is Monzo right in asking to close all the banking relationship with them - Joint account/ Savings Pot etc if a customer asks to switch out?
2. Would we be allowed to open an account with Monzo ever again in future if we choose to close individual and joint account now? (Monzo card is needed when we travel to Europe again next year)
TIA

1. Check the T&C's associated with your joint account. You can always open a replacement joint account with another bank.
2. There may be a delay before you can open a new Monzo account after switching, Starling Bank stipulate one year, I'm not sure about Monzo but others can tell you. As for travel, you can easily open a Starling account or other suitable alternatives, it's certainly advisable to have more than one anyway.Evolution, not revolution0 -

Do you offer joint accounts?
Yes we do! To get a joint account between two people, you both need to have a Monzo current account and have 'Payments with Friends' activated. You'll find the 'Create a joint account' button on the Profile page on iOS and your Settings on Android.

Thanks @YorkshireBoy
I read the T&C - ''to have a joint acct, you need to have a sole account'', literally a moment back.
So, it seems like Joint account will have to be closed too. Its a shame that they would ask the customer to just go away
@eDicky Thanks for the suggestion. If Monzo does not take us back next year, then Starling, here we come!
