Is it worth getting off a deemed energy tariff for 2 weeks before new provider takes over?

Hi,
Ive recently moved into a new apartment and have switched (today) to British Gas Evolve. They should be taking over within 2 to 4 weeks. In the mean time, i'm on a deemed tariff with EON. Is it worth me switching to one of EONs cheaper energy plans for 2-4 weeks before british gas take over? Or will this just cause problems because ive just signed up to BG Evolve?
Opinions please

If you change tarrifs you will likely incur exit fees if there are none or they are willing to waive them and it will
save you money then yes change

If you're on a deemed tariff that suggests you've haven't registered with E.On. If so, that will only cause problems !1

Even if you register with E.ON they'll keep you on the SVT or get you to move to a fixed tariff.
I personally just provided my move in read to E.ON, got an account in my name and stayed on the deemed tariff for 2 weeks. The amount of money you would save to switching to one of their cheaper tariff for those 2 weeks might be £5 max (depending on usage etc. etc.)
Most fixed tariffs have an exit fee as pointed out by Worrywart.
Basically... it just depends on how much you wanna save those few extra £...1
