Hi All
@savingholmes, thank you. I'm just fed up of being always tired and achy, it doesn't make life any easier!
Been juggling things this morning, had to be in work before 8 but needed to drop off DGD at school so roped in help from DD, nipped out from the office ferried them to school and work and nipped back again!
It's our First Wedding Anniversary today, one whole year since we eloped! We went away last weekend and are going for a meal tonight. DH had 2 books folded for my gift (as it's our Paper Anniversary), one with our initials and a heart and the other with the date, really thoughtful and romantic, oh and he got me a pand0ra charm too
I'm going to wear the same dress tonight that I wore the evening before our wedding, a nice white broderie anglais one, knowing me I'll spill something down it!!
Did a quick and easy dinner last night as DS and DGD had had a Maccy's, so we had gnocchi with sausages, veg etc baked in the oven, I will save the curry with spinach that DGD wanted until she is with us tomorrow night.
Nearly the weekend!

Hi All
Sorry I haven't checked in for a while, I had a few days off last week, spent time with DD which was great, did things that she wanted to do such as a long dog walk at a local beauty spot, followed by a refreshing cider.
@savingholmes and @Jessy103, thank you for the comments, we had a lovely anniversary, still can't believe a year has passed.
We've just had a lovely relaxing weekend, a nearby village had it's annual music festival so we spent a fab afternoon and evening in the sun with a picnic, listening to local bands and sampling a local cider or two. Yesterday was spent in the garden doing some prep as next weekend DS and DH will be laying the new path to match the patio.
I went to the GP last week, he has ordered some blood tests to rule out underlying health conditions which could be causing my tiredness and aches and pains. I've also subscribed to Sleepstation and they have devised a sleep plan for me so will give that a try, of course it could all be down to my age!!
It was payday on Friday but I haven't updated my signature yet, will try and do that later when I have some headspace. I did do my meter readings on Friday night though, only remembered once I'd gone to bed, but I got up and did them so my bill will be accurate. DD had her first pay on Friday too, her tax refund wasn't on it though so hopefully she will get that next month. She is planning on redecorating her bedroom as a birthday treat to herself, has ordered some new furniture from Ikea which she and her best friend are collecting on Wednesday (they wanted £40 for delivery!), I guess we will get a lot of this now she is studying interior design!!
Have a good Monday

Hi All
Another quick check in as I have updated my signature for this month.
Mortgage has gone below the £113k figure
Loan will go below £4k next month. Credit card will go below £5k next month. Savings a little bit dented but that follows our anniversary, P!nk (and the extra costs due to our accommodation being cancelled) and paying for flight and parking for next March's holiday. I have started overpayments again to the mortgage, not quite as high as I would like but will monitor and may pay more towards the end of the month. Next month DS will be paying £300 rent again (I have waived it again this month due to the work he is doing for us) and this will be going into savings.

Morning All
Wet, windy and a bit chilly here this morning.
Quick, easy and cheap dinner for DD and DH last night, meatballs from the freezer (reduced to £1.15), sliced pepper and onions, garlic, tin of tomatoes and loads pf paprika served with pasta, they enjoyed it and there's a portion left for DD another day. We've got DGD for the next 3 nights so need things that she will eat, will have to think about that, probably a spag bol and a curry.
DH and I are going to the cinema to see Indiana Jones tomorrow night, get some 'us' time, it's only £4 per ticket at our new cinema so not an expensive treat, the kids will just have to manage for themselves.
Have a good Tuesday

You sound like you are coping admirably with the extra warm bodies in the house. Nice that DS is pulling his weight too. Your DD sounds like she's enjoying testing her skills. Perhaps remind her that a lot of 1k3a stuff is available on FB marketplace for a fraction of the cost and often looks like new.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi All
I've had a busy couple of weeks, hence I haven't posted. I had a week of being on call, which was manic and I barely slept and then life has just been busy, DD's birthday celebrations (Miller and Carter for a lovely meal) and redecorating her room (she did most of it but we were on hand to assist!), it looks lovely, her Interior Design skills are definitely improving and all done on a tight budget. We've had another trip to the cinema to see MI:Dead Reckoning pt1, which was great and I met up with a school friend for an Indian on Saturday night, none of this has been at all money saving!
DD got her £200+ tax refund through so she is very happy with that, she has also had a fair bit of birthday money so has salted that away. She has also started selling on V!nted and will save the proceeds to fund future purchases. I have sold a few more bits and have had a flurry of people liking items so hoping for a few sales next week once everyone has been paid. I've also bought a couple of items, real bargains, like a T3d B@ker camera bag and purse, complete with dustbag for £5, exactly what I wanted and using the proceeds of my sales.
DS laid the path for us a couple of weeks ago but the weather has been so atrocious since that we have struggled to point the slabs and seal them, I finally got the sealing done last night, will get a second coat on tonight after work. we still need some chippings to finish off and then he still needs to pave down behind the garage but that isn't urgent. It all looks so lovely now with patio and path all matching.
Roll on payday next week, I cant wait to update my signature again.

Lovely news about the tax refund and DD's room restyle. Good the patio is practically resolved too.

Hi All
It's a bit miserable here again today, luckily I did manage to get the second coat of sealant on the path on Tuesday whilst the sun was shining and it has been well and truly tested the last couple of days and repelled the rain water. The shingle has been ordered to bring the levels back up at the sides now that the new path is done, so that maybe a job for the weekend.
Payslips have been received, mine is salaried so always the same but DD's looks very healthy and she has paid some tax and NI, she should get this back at the end of the summer as, although she has crossed the thresholds this month, she won't have earnt enough over the financial year. I'm looking forward to being paid on Monday and updating my signatures.
We went to the cinema again last night to see Oppenheimer, myself, DH and DD at just £4 per ticket its an affordable treat, not sure what we will watch next week as the only option that we haven't already seen will be Barbie, not sure I can persuade DH to see that!
Looking forward to the weekend and a peaceful few days, the weather is looking pretty unsettled so although there is a band in the park we probably won't be going, I think instead we may tackle the conservatory and the peeling wallpaper (thanks to the old leak that is now fixed), we have paint etc to sort it, so no monetary outlay, will just need some effort removing the old wallpaper and smoothing the walls before we paint.
Have a good day
