Rechargeable Batteries When Always Being Charged?

My cordless phone is needing new rechargeable batteries as the talk time is down to 35 minutes,  it ran out of charge after that time on hold and I had to start all over again I just put in normal AA batteries until my call was over.
What are the best type of rechargeable batteries when they are always being charged sitting on the base station?

    Any, I don't think trickle charging harms them. Mine are at least 10 years old and easily last an hour. The mAh rating should equal or exceed the original battery capacity as this gives the call time. Ikea rechargeable batteries are good for the price.

    Similar experience;

    I bought a set of 4 National Panasonic cordless phones in Jan’2013. All 4 handsets were still running on the original (Panasonic) rechargeable batteries until September this year. They were  the bog-standard batteries available at the time and were supplied with each handset. The handsets were just left in their individual charging cradles 24/7.

    Each handset was always capable of well over an hour’s talk-time, no problem;

    ...as Er’indoors can attest to. D
