Help please - how to register Lasting Power of Attorney with shares and investment bonds

Sadly, our 92 year old mother is now at the point of needing care and my sister and myself are starting the task of consolidating her assets in one place so that we can have a fund from which we can pay care bills, solicitors etc.
We do thankfully have in place financial and welfare powers of attorney which allow us to act in her best interests and I have begun the process of registering that with the various banks and investment funds etc. However, there are a couple of items on her spreadsheet of assets that I don't know how to go about this. Firstly, she has some shares in IAG ( not worth too much these days) we have an account number and obviously her name and address details but we have no idea where the certificates are and we are in a similar situation with an item listed as "Lloyds Investment fund managers Ltd Gilt fund - B class".
If anyone can point me to a cost effective way of getting what I need to do done ( with a view then to cash these in to transfer funds to a bank account in the name of my mother ) it'd be most appreciated.

Obviously much depends on the degree of fragmentation and the size of each pot, but consolidation may not be necessary, even if convenient.

In terms of identifying the broker(s) holding the investments that you haven't been able to match, I'm not sure there's any particular short cuts (obviously assuming she's incapable of remembering and/or communicating the answer) but you might find that the answer lies in her bank statements, either from the purchases or from subsequent dividends?  Maybe contact the IAG registrar (it'll be listed on their website under 'investor relations' or similar) on the off chance that she has a direct holding rather than via a nominee account, especially if certificated?

It looks like the Lloyds fund is based in Jersey -

I'm not sure which company you are referring to as IAG - if it's the airline, then their Registrar is Computershare.
