Why does your friend think he's smarter than everyone else on the planet to have found a genuine, guaranteed, 1% return a day investment?
If that offer really did exist, the likes of Buffett would be all over it, not just your easily scammed friend.0 -
When I was much younger I started forex trading with a tenner and finished the day with £180; I was clearly a prodigy. I made more the next day. That run of luck did not continue and while I technically lost hundreds, at least it only cost me a tenner. There are people who make a lot of money from forex trading, but there are also people who win the lottery.0

Always ask yourself why someone who knows about a sure-fire, can't lose, no-risk way of making easy money is actually taking the time to tell you instead of sunning himself on his 100m yacht complete with helicopter and submarine and surrounded by naked supermodels **.** other fantasies are available (especially if you're a billionaire

Why settle for less than a submarine yacht.Mickey666 said:100m yacht complete with helicopter and submarine.

FCA doesn't protect against bad investments I'm afraid"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

This isn’t particularly related to this thread but reminds me of something. Around 15 years ago I opened an account with one of the spread betting firms (IG Index, I think). I only did it as they were offering Avios to open an account.I placed a couple of small bets to satisfy the Avios conditions but downloaded their training platform to mess about for a bit. They gave something like £10k ‘play money’ and I had a go for a couple of days. I can’t remember whether I made money or not and it was only a fortnight later that they emailed to say that my trial period was over so I logged back on.I’d completely forgotten that I’d left a position. From memory I’d gone for the maximum £1,000 a pip on cable. My balance after this fortnight was just under £250k. Fortunately I was bright enough to realise that I’d just gone the right way on a 50/50 bet and got lucky. Had it been real money I’d have cashed out once I’d made a few hundred anyway.0

I had a colleague once who quit his job as he was doing so well at Forex trading. He was trading some eastern European currency as he was from there. Couldn't stop telling people how well he was doing at it etc..
3 months this later he was back at his job. No one talked about Forex trading then.1
