Childrens bank accounts with online access

I'm sure this must have been asked before so apologies but I couldn't find anything via the search function, and the banks' websites seem pretty vague so I'm wondering if anyone can help!
My son is 8 years old and I want to open a bank account for him, ideally one he can access online or via an app so he can see the balance (hopefully) growing without having to go into a branch. I'm finding it difficult to see if any banks offer this for a child of his age, some state that online access is only from 11 years and some are not clear. Can anyone recommend a bank that offers an account like this please?

IMO no - eight is too young for internet access.
Lloyds start their U 19 accounts at 11 years old where with parental permission they can access the internet and the app.0 -
Check out Starling Kite. It's a kid's debit card only for now, with the management in a "Space" in an adult account, but I gather they are working on a Kite Kid's app.
Your other alternative could be a kids prepaid card, such as Go Henry. But those are not banks.0
